Mary Corsaro, Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher
Mary has been a dance and musical theatre instructor at the collegiate and professional level for over thirty years. She originally came to yoga in an unusual way. One summer break she began most days with a yoga class she found on television. She loved the fact that after yoga in the morning she felt calm, energized and ready for the day. This led to a period of exploration where she took classes and workshops in many different styles of yoga (with live teachers!). She found herself gravitating to Anusara yoga classes which included studying locally with Rachel Bush who has been an incredibly supportive mentor. Some of her other influential yoga teachers have included Denise Hatch, Amy Abelson, Martin Kirk, Doug Keller, Vishali Varga, Ellen Saltonstall and Desirée Rumbaugh.
The Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment and heart-centered philosophy speak to Mary on many levels. She is very interested in therapeutic applications of yoga and the mind-body connection so beautifully integrated in Anusara yoga. Mary teaches yoga at Lakshmi Living Arts and Anderson Young Ballet Theatre Academy. She also teaches chair yoga at Kendal of Ithaca. Mary is proud to be able to say that she is officially an Anusara-Inspired yoga teacher.
Clarissa Farrell
I fell in love with the path of yoga when I was introduced to Anusara Yoga – being a heart centered path, it hooked me and showed me the depth to which yoga will take you and be there for you through life’s winding journey. I was lucky to do the Anusara Immersions and teacher training at The Yoga Loft and Lakshmi Living Arts with Rachel Bush, Amy Abelson and Denise Hatch as my teachers, they continue to be my teachers today. I am currently an Anusara Elements teacher. I also am a Moondancer and a practitioner of Tensegrity which keep me connected to our energetic selves, the elements and the 4 directions and how we can play with, interweave and learn from this intelligence on and off our mats.I love yoga because it will keep me learning and moving for the rest of my days.
Hilary Davis, Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher
Hilary was brought to yoga by her mother and grandmother when she was ten. These women and her teachers Amy Abelson, Rachel Bush and Denise Hatch inspire her to offer yoga as a liberation practice. Hilary began her formal training in the Sivananda tradition and has since become a licensed Anusara Elements Teacher. She completed her Anusara Teacher Training and Immersion at Lakshmi Living Arts. Her classes invite awe at the complexity and beauty of the human body and softness in the seat of the heart. Poetry and science inform her understanding of spirit. Hilary has worked for the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga organizing their annual Yoga Conference/Festival, Samavesha, an international gathering of the ASHY community, for the last two years.
Marcy Little, Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher
Marcy, longtime Yogini, African dancer, teacher, mother, writer, seeker, and above all, student. She brings these parts of herself to every class she teaches. Her teaching, while well studied and prepared, is above all intuitive and curious. The depth of her own practice gives her sight and attunement. Students in Marcy’s class feel seen and known. After 25 years as a language teacher, in 2017 Marcy left the classroom for good due to exposure to mold that left her very ill. Her healing journey since has led her to become the healer she was always meant to be. Currently, in addition to running her own yoga studio (theyogaroom.us), teaching Anusara® and Afro Flow Yoga® classes and working one-on-one with clients, Marcy is working on publishing her most recent book, Naked.
